Softphone is supported on all popular platforms: IOS, Android, MacOS, Windows, Linux and can be downloaded from official website or from app stores:
1. Login to Sippy Softswitch, via web UI
Lets assume that IP of Softswitch is 192.168.0.150, it's unique for every Environment.
1.1 Create an Account on Sippy Softswitch or use existing one, note its Account Name, VoIP Login and VoIP Password
2. Run Linphone and open Preferences
Gear icon to access Preferences is in bottom left corner of Home page
3. Click Add Account on SIP accounts tab, Proxy accounts section
4. Setup Account Settings:
- SIP Address: enter there the Account Name and Sippy Softswitch IP/hostname in following format sip:VoIPLogin@SoftswitchIP, for example above:
sip:Telekom@192.168.0.150
- SIP Server address - after colon symbol enter the SoftswitchIP, e.g.
<sip:192.168.0.150;transport=udp>
- select needed Transport (UDP is most commonly used one)
- Change Registration duration if needed
- In case Registration of an Account is required, turn on the Register button
Other parameters are optional, and might be disabled as shown on screenshots below.
5.After save of parameters, enter User ID and Password.
User ID should match VoIP Login Password - VoIP Password correspondingly.
6. Make this account default for outgoing calls
6.1 In top right corner click on account name to open list of Accounts
6.2 Double click on the needed Account to mark it a default one.
Record would be highlighted with bold.
7. Open Softswitch page and make sure Account is successfully registered (case Register setting was enabled)
